Rubber Ducky, I Hate You
Tickle hasn’t quite grown into his feet yet. Walking, running, jumping – doesn’t
matter. Eventually he is going to tumble
and then lay there, looking up at me as if to ask “What happened?”
Earlier in the day Tickle missed the potty pad by a good two
inches and tinkled on the hard wood floor.
Before I had a chance to clean it up, he then proceeded to trip and fall
face first into his own urine.
Sigh. I figured now was as good
as any time to introduce him to the joys of bath time.
I had heard that Corgis generally tend to like water. In many videos of Corgis online, people have
their dogs in the ocean or in a pool.
Tickle is not a fan of water. He
just whimpered the whole time I washed and rinsed him, thankfully not trying to
run away. He was a good sport about me
cleaning out his ears, wiping around his eyes, and brushing his teeth. Everything was going pretty well….until I
turned on the hair dryer of doom.
I have never heard him screech like that before. The poor puppy was in a complete panic. I had the dryer on the lowest settings and it
honestly is a relatively quiet dryer, but Tickle was having a melt down. He cried the entire time it was on and did
his best to try and scramble away. When I
finally turned off the hair dryer, he was a cuddly mess, just wanting to be
comforted from the terrifying experience.
I brushed his fur, which calmed him down, and gave the sweetie a treat,
which also seemed to help.
Looks like we are going to have to work on overcoming hair
dryer fears.
